Don’t Lose Your Soul

Many of us in the modern world suffer from something I like to call ‘disconnected syndrome’. This is a general loss of direction, mission, purpose, balance and connection with the inner self.

If you feel some of the symptoms it’s time to make space and make some external changes in your
life to focus on the inner/true self. Start by creating conditions that will allow you to liven up your soul.

Once you begin to reconnect you recognize the potential for more joy and ordinary life begins to grow from within. See a great piece by Lissa Rankin MD, originally featured on Wake Up World

HOW TO KILL CANDIDA AND BALANCE YOUR INNER ECOSYSTEM

SEPTEMBER 5, 2014 MICHAEL EDWARDS

Most people ingest too many refined, processed foods. Even us health nuts have a tendency to do this. In this fast paced world, with the body biologically programmed to desire sweets and other easy carbohydrates that are so much harder to find in nature, it’s common and totally normal to have too much Candida in our body.

If you experience this problem, and again, most people do, here are some ways you can balance your gut flora. Balancing the flora will alleviate many health issues, even little annoying ones you thought you were stuck with for the rest of your life such as itchy ear canals, body odor, and eczema.

Garlic

Most people know that garlic is antifungal, antiparasitic, antibacterial, and antiviral. It also helps with a host of other issues including the removal of toxins in the body. If I could only choose one single item to work with when it comes to healing and treatment modalities, I would choose garlic. Unfortunately, many people don’t know exactly how to use it to reap the benefits.

First and foremost, don’t cook it. It loses all its Candida fighting properties when you do. Secondly, cut it up and give it a minute before ingesting it. Or, if you’ve got a strong stomach and an even stronger mouth, chew it up for a minute with your mouth open, breathing in and out. This is also an incredibly effective treatment for tooth and gum problems, and even bad breath; though swallowing it, of course, can lead to garlic breath for many, but garlic breath is a sign of a toxic body.

Don’t use garlic from China, even if it’s organic. One way to tell, is those smaller, bright white garlic bulbs are almost always grown in China. China’s soil is just too toxic.

Essential oils

Oil of oregano has antifungal, antibacterial, and antiparasitic properties as well. Oil of oregano is exceptionally powerful and can be taken in tablet form.

Some other essential oils that kill candida include lavender, thieves, tea tree, and peppermint, though I don’t recommend taking these oils internally. They are a good solution for Candida skin rashes, though they can be painful to use. In most cases, they will not harm the skin even though you will feel a burning sensation.

Oils

Coconut oil is known for its antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties, though it’s efficacy with Candida control is weak compared to other ingestible choices. Neem oil is an oil with similar antiparasitic properties, a bit stronger at parasitic control than coconut oil, but it should only be applied topically.

Other Candida Killers

Other notable items that are known to combat fungus include wormwood, black walnut hull, Spanish black radish, Pau d’Arco, goldenseal, coptis chinensis, ginger, cinnamon, and olive leaf extract. All of these are great to have around, and a few of them are exceptional at killing parasites, viruses, and bacterial infections (coptis chinensis, wormwood, black walnut hull, Spanish black radish) but while they are certainly antifungal, they’re not the strongest solution.

My favorite combination for eliminating excess yeast in my body is undecenoic acid (Thorne SF722) and very high quality probiotics. Combine this with Shillington’s intestinal cleanse and with big salads every day with lots of different vegetables, and you’ve got yourself a clean colon free of excess Candida in days, often in just one day. What I love about undecenoic acid and probiotics is that they don’t kill off good bacteria. They only eliminate Candida and other fungi. If I want to knock out parasites as well, I use Para-Shield, which has wormwood and black walnut hulls (and other good stuff that parasites hate).

Whatever approach you take with intestinal maintenance, a diet with a diverse selection of lots of raw vegetables is the most important thing you can do for your colon and your whole body.

ANTIBIOTIC TONIC RECIPE

By, DEREK HENRY

Bacterial infections happen. How your immune system deals with them, along with what you eat, will ultimately determine how quickly you get over them. So if you do feel something coming on, or it becomes full blown overnight, take this antibiotic tonic to help knock it to its knees.

Purpose

The purpose of this recipe is to provide you with a proven formula that will knock out a bacterial infection as quickly as possible. The powerful antibacterial qualities, along with vitamin C, enzymes, and probiotics of all the ingredients together makes this a very potent medicine you can quickly make so you barely skip a beat. Warning: This is not made for taste. It’s made to work.

Ingredients

2 cloves of garlic
1/2 small onion
1 piece of turmeric (1 inch or 1/4 tsp ground)
1 piece of ginger (1/2 inch or 1/4 tsp ground)
1 lemon
1/2 small jalapeño or dash of cayenne pepper
1 oz of apple cider vinegar
Optional: 1 piece of horseradish (1/2 inch)
Optional: 1 tsp raw honey

If you do not have a masticating juicer, use what you have that could juice the ingredients properly. Failing that, finely chop or grate first 4 items, or get freshly ground versions (which will not be as potent, but will have benefit).

Directions

Peel garlic and lemon
Feed garlic, onion, turmeric, ginger, and lemon and jalapeño (if not using cayenne pepper) through juicer one by one
Add cayenne (if not using jalapeño, or if you can handle more heat) and apple cider vinegar
Line up large chaser of water, if required
Consumption

Take up to 1 oz immediately when feeling symptoms related to bacterial or viral infection, and up to 3 times a day, as desired.

Eat Raw Green Beans for a Wide Array of Nutrients

Green beans are a common vegetable that is widely available and generally inexpensive, so it’s not difficult to add this food to your diet. Raw green beans provide a wide array of important nutrients, ranging from dietary fiber to the mineral fluoride. Eating raw green beans can also be convenient because you don’t have to spend any time cooking the beans; just wash them, and eat.

Weight Control and Macronutrients
A cup of raw green beans weighing 100 grams, has 31 calories and 2.7 grams of fiber. If you are trying to maintain your current weight or lose weight, raw green beans can help fill you up without excessive calories. Because they contain seeds, they also have 1.83 grams of protein. Although green beans are sweet to the taste, they only contain 3.26 grams of natural sugars per cup, making them a safe snack for diabetics.

Vitamins
Each cup of raw green beans provides about 1/6 of the vitamin C you need each day; boosting your intake of this antioxidant helps keep your cells healthy. It also has 1/7 of your recommended daily intake for vitamin K, a nutrient that promotes proper blood clotting and plays a role in your bone metabolism. Raw green beans contain small amounts of vitamins A and E, as well as the B-vitamins, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate and B-6.

Essential Minerals
If you are a man, a cup of raw green beans provides 1/8 of the iron you need each day. Women, who need more iron, get about six percent of their daily requirement of iron in a cup of green beans. Iron helps carry oxygen throughout your body and benefits your immune function and energy metabolism. Raw green beans also provide five to 10 percent of your recommended daily intake for calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium, adding modest, supplemental amounts of these essential minerals.

Raw Vs. Cooked
Boiling green beans depletes them of some of their nutrients, particularly minerals and vitamin C. A 100-gram serving of cooked green beans has about the same amount of protein, B-vitamins and vitamins A and E as raw green beans, but cooking green beans causes them to lose 30 percent of their potassium, iron and magnesium, and 20 percent of their vitamin C content.
