With gym closures and quarantines, people have to make big changes to their workout routines. Since exercise is so important — especially now, we want to make sure that we don’t succumb to a habit of over indulging on Netflix and lost physical motivation. This we know can easily become a downward spiral.
So, teaming up with The Wall Street Journal, we provided a workout form the “Type – A Overachiever” and for “The Outdoor Enthusiast”.

While I secretly hoped to detox with a massage before sprawling out at the pool, trainers Christopher and Tracie Vlaun were ready and waiting in the spa to take me to the beach for a different type of detox. The fitness power couple behind the boutique brand V Art of Wellness are known for keeping everyone from royalty to Olympic athletes in shape. Tracie is a former Elite model who has traveled the globe for everything from photo shoots to yoga training sessions in spots like South Africa, in addition to co-hosting Travel Channel shows like Get Packing. Christopher, meanwhile, is a pioneer in the outdoor fitness movement. While I was dying during the sprinting portion of that morning’s beach boot camp, for instance, he was highlighting the benefits of training in the sand and smelling the saltwater from the sea. When they’re not in Miami, the couple leads retreats everywhere from Park City to Cabo, and they make the concept of training on the road seem just as obvious as avoiding sugary drinks at Starbucks when you’re on a diet. V Art of Wellness is feature in CNN for the “Top 10 fitness vacations for the New Year”.
Beach boot camps in Miami
Boot camps don’t have to mean getting muddy in a local park or being shouted at by military grade PTs.
The Confidante on Miami Beach runs a string of fitness classes and camps designed to get guests and day visitors feeling fit and healthy for 2017 — without being berated for not failing to make the grade.
Personal trainers Christopher and Tracie Vlaun teach classes on the sand including “beach cross” and “beach body blast” for those after a high-intensity workout.
More soothing yoga sessions are also available. Classes start at 10 a.m. and cost $20 for non-guests.

As a model working in South Africa in the early 2000s, Tracie Wright Vlaun started doing yoga along with her fitness regimen to help her deal with the mental toll that the fashion industry can sometimes inflict. “To let go of all the BS,” is how she put it. But she eventually wanted something “less Om-chanty,” and set about to create a workout that would blend poses into a more intense session.
By 2009, she and her trainer husband Chris Vlaun had devised a regimen that included entry-level yoga poses and bodyweight exercises grounded in the “fundamentals of ancient movement art disciplines.” Aeroga, the name of the duo’s high-energy workout offered at Florida’s St. Regis Bal Harbor Resort, is a seamless mix of power-based calisthenics set to a choreographed playlist that ranges among Adele, U2, Stevie Wonder, and Bach. It has taken off by word of mouth, attracting Miami tourists and a few athletes as well as the owners of the teams the athletes play for. “It’s going to kick your ass,” Chris Vlaun said.
